THE LITTLE MISS BENUE’S GOOD WILL MESSAGE ON CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATION 2012

Your Excellency, the executive governor of Benue state, your Excellency, the first lady of Benue state, Your Excellency the deputy governor of Benue State, your Excellency the Deputy governor of Benue state, your Excellency, the wife of the deputy governor of Benue state. All protocols duly observed. Every year on this day, the Nigerian government and people make out time to formally celebrate Her Young ones. This year, we are together under the theme “Let’s Build a culture of peace and security for the Nigerian child”. Providing peace and security for every Nigerian child is a must, I feel particular attention to children is important, not only for the development of the country but to fulfill the right of every child. Insecurity is the mother of failure for children as it makes them Live in fright and fear of the unknown, thereby limiting or reducing their ability to concentrate and learn. I think Every Human being should have the chance to make a better living for themselves, unfortunately too many children in Nigeria today are growing without this chance because they are denied their basic right s to Life and quality education. I pray, something is done fast to reduce the high level of insecurity in Nigeria today. Imagine the number of children orphaned as a result of the present situations in Nigeria; Imagine the Number of Nigerian children that have died in these situations. In Nigeria, Benue state is the twentieth state to pass child right law and I’ll like to say this on behalf of every Benue child that we are proud of the Benue state government for this gesture. I will also like to appreciate the first lady of Benue state, Her Excellency Arch Mrs. Dooshima Yemisi suswam for ensuring that the youth and children parliament are successfully established in the 23 Local government areas in the state. Beyond words, this will go a long way to positively affect the Benue child in general. I also wish to appreciate the state government for ensuring that the chains of immunization programs in the state are not broken. For all this, I say thank you. I seize this opportunity to request that Family courts be established to back the child right Law which you passed. Sir, the cases of child abuse within the state are on a daily increase. We hope that our child friendly Governor look into this matter. I wish every Benue child a happy day. Read your books, have fun and don’t forget to honor your parents, tutors, elders and yourself. Thank you
